🚴🌍 Happy Bicycle Day! Have you tried Monaco’s electric city bikes (@monacbike)? Our teams decided to put them to the test in an effort to promote sustainable commuting and embarked on a fun cycling adventure between Grimaldi Forum and the hotel. We chose three electrifying circuits: The Scenic, The Sportive, and The Express circuit!

⛵ The Scenic circuit - our favourite – will take you along the seaside : Grimaldi Forum – onto the Monaco GP circuit towards the Yacht Club – passing Port Hercule and the Rascasse – through the tunnel – along the Fontvieille Marina and arriving to Columbus Monte-Carlo in 11 minutes. You might take longer as there are so many great photo spots on the way, though 😉

💪 If you're up for a small challenge, The Sportive circuit is perfect for you : Grimaldi Forum – up along the famous Fairmont Hairpin – Hotel Metropole - Avenue Princesse Charlotte – Train station – downhill along Boulevard Rainier III – through the tunnel – along Avenue de Fontvieille, arriving to Columbus Monte-Carlo in 9 intense minutes.

⏱️ And for those seeking a quick but exhilarating ride, The Express circuit is for you: Grimaldi Forum – Express way to Fontvieille – down at the second roundabout (yes, still in the tunnel) – along Avenue de Fontvieille and arriving to Columbus Monte-Carlo in 8 minutes in normal traffic. Our teams are convinced that 6 minutes are doable.

In conclusion: You can zip through the city streets, soak in the urban energy, and arrive at your destination in no time, all while reducing your carbon footprint.

Reducing our impact on the environment and promoting responsible tourism is very important to us. We would like to share some of our green actions with you:

⚡ Our hotel parking lot is now equipped with 4 fast-charging stations for electric vehicles

🀤 Our room keys are made of bamboo

🗃️ We introduced virtual business cards

🍯 We have eliminated individual miniature pots of jam and honey at our breakfast buffet. You will find jam distributors and natural, unprocessed comb honey

🛍️ We offer beautiful branded products to our hotel guests promoting eco-responsible behaviour - shopping nets, reusable cutlery, and water bottles

♻️ We offer regular training on recycling best practises in collaboration with the SMA so that our employees optimise recycling of our office, staff cafeteria, and guest waste wherever possible

💧 Water fountains for our guests and employees: We encourage our guests to use reusable drinking bottles, also available at the reception desk if needed. We share a map of nearby water fountains. Employees are gifted personalised mugs and reusable drinking bottles on special occasions

🥛 You will not find plastic bottles at Columbus Monte-Carlo. The glass water bottles we use in the restaurant and meeting spaces can be returned. In our minibars, guests will exclusively find still and sparkling water cans by ocean52, chosen for their recyclability and the fact that 52% of profits go to ocean protection projects

🚿 We only have water-efficient showers, taps, and toilets

💡 Eco-signs in our bathrooms inform guests that their towels will not be changed by default and that fresh ones need to be requested

🚫 Guest can opt out of having their room cleaned

🧼 We recycle our guests' soaps with SapoCycle, a caritative organization
